Scheduling Frustrations

Well, this is the first post of my shiny new blog, so I figure I may as well just jump right in there. I am attending school on a WIA grant, which requires I be a full-time student. Now, I just found out this week that my daughter's babysitter, who my ex and I had been hoping would also accept our son when school lets out, has just announced that she is closing the day care at the end of this month for family reasons.

Now, to be fair, I totally understand her reasons, and in her position I would do the same. I am definitely not angry over the situation as far as that goes, family comes first.

What is frustrating me is that we now have a problem with figuring out what to do for the summer. I had already arranged my schedule the best I could to accomidate my ex's shift work and to be available for the kids as much as possible. Now, we're looking for a place that will accept a 5 year old and a 6 year old over the summer.

There is the option of signing them up for the montessori school on campus, but a friend had recently pulled her child out of it due to not liking their teaching style. My ex is going to contact CHASI to try and get something straightened out, as currently he was only recieving help for our daughter because her brother was in school all day. We're pretty sure, though, that if he can get CHASI to cover both, it would not cover them to be enrolled in the montessori school, as that would be done through me.

So, if we can't figure something out quickly, I'll have to drop some of my classes, which will cause a problem with the grant I'm getting. I just hope that we can arrange something. Even a tight schedule would be better than the headache of dropping classes.
