I still haven't managed to get a job, though there does look to be some small glimmer of hope on the horizon there. After yet another unproductive trip to the Financial Aid office to try and find out about the status of my work/study application, I finally found someone who was actually willing to listen to my frustrations. Not just that, but they're actually going to make inquiries to help me get some answers, and possibly a student loan so that I can buy my Adobe software. For once, I walked away from my inquiries with some small feeling of calm, rather than panic and despair. I'm not all alone in this after all, and at a paoint where I don't have much else, that makes a huge difference.
During the trip, I did also get a list of numbers I can call to attempt to improve my living situation. I'll be going today to pick up an application at the housing authority, and with a little bit of luck, I'll be able to get approved for assistance with getting an apartment. I'm positive that a good deal of my stress and anxiety would lessen if I could simply go to sleep in the privacy of my own bedroom, or get dressed without an audience. It won't be a permanent solution, and I won't breathe easy until I'm also bringing home a paycheck, but to have some control over my own environment would definitely be the glimmering of a small speck of light at the other end of the tunnel.
We went to a park for about an hour or so, and I just sat and photographed him while we chatted about various things. For the assignment, I turned in two final images, but I ended up taking about forty. The one where he is taking of his glasses is one of the "final" images I turned in, and it's one of my favorites from the whole shoot. The one with the blue grating was the other final image, and I was fairly pleased with the way the grating helped to balance the picture.
I'm planning to try and update a little more regularly with more images as I take them. Some time this week, I hope to get out and take some pictures of various locations around town for my places assignment. I was thinking of heading down to one of the historic cemeteries to see if I can find a ghoul gate to take a picture of.
