Well, it appears that I have lucked out. I finished my daughter's ruby slippers on Friday, after the ex purchased the supplies. Over the course of the week, I was also able to acquire a decent pair of boots and a small mini-tophat. A relative also purchased a few yards of green fabric, which should be enough for me to make the spats and corset I need for my costume. The only part of if missing now is a coat appropriate for the outfit. I'd attempt to make that out of some black fabric I have in my stash, but a jacket seems so complicated, especially since I don't have a dress form to fit it on.
School is moving along slowly. In Video Game Theory, we've finished our first textbook, and are currently working on developing our proposal ideas. I need to find my voucher for the financial aid, so that I can go buy the second book for the design part of the class. I also need to come up with six more games to review before the end of class. That's not going to be an easy thing with my current lack of income. I'm managing to cruise along decently in Photoshop, and I'm still behind by a couple assignments in InDesign and Digital Photography.
As far as the job hunt, I've still heard nothing from the places I've applied, including the work-study jobs at the school. I'm starting to worry about that, but I'm hoping I can come up with some items to put out on my aunt's table at a craft fair she's doing next month. Also, I'm doing pamphlets for my father's business as my current InDesign assignment, and he's suggested if they're usable that he'd pay me for them.

ReplyDeleteGood luck on the job hunt
thanks! The classes are really great, though at least once a month, I find my self grumbling about whoever it was that claimed art classes were easy. lol Even though it's really fun, it's also a lot of really hard work.
