My daughter's clas
s was one of the first two to ride out to the field to pick pumpkins. One of the farm cats climbed onto the wagon with us and rode all the way out to the field. The kids thought it was the coolest thing, and the cat actually seemed to like all the attention it was getting. It would calmly stay there while all the kids petted it, and even let some of them pick it up. The wagon driver said that the cat usually doesn't go out to the field
like that, so on our way back, my daughter's teacher held the cat to make sure it got back where it belonged. There were a lot of other activities that the kids enjoyed while we were there. She especially liked the zip line. She kept coming back to it after going to do other things. The kids would sit on the plastic seat, and hold on to the yellow rope. The workers would then use the other rope to sent them sliding down the cable to the platform at the other end, where another worker would catch them and help them down. Most of the time, as soon as the kids' feet hit the ground, they were getting back into the line to go again.
There was
also a small pyramid of hay bales and a small hay maze, though it seemed a bit too open in the middle to really be much of a maze. The kids mostly climbed on top of it and ran around the outside of it. There were also animal pens, where you could feed the goats or pigs. There were also chickens, but they were roaming all over, and the kids had a lot of fun chasing them around the farmyard area. They also did a demonstration for the kids where they shot pumpkins out of a cannon. They had each of the teachers come up to shoot the cannon at a target. It was loud, but the kids all seemed to think it was really cool.

Sounds like a great time overall. I remember doing that stuff with both of my kids when they were small. It's stuff like this you and they will remember and treasure always!
