Time to call the waaaaahmbulance?

For the past few days, the tone on this blog has been fairly negative. Now and then, I get overwhelmed and can only see the bad, not the many wonderful things I have going for me. It gets so easy to be overwhelmed by the struggle and convince myself that it's never going to get any better.

While I've got a long way to go still, I do have a lot of great things going for me. I have two amazing, brilliant kids. I am in school, taking amazingly fun classes, and about halfway to my associates in applied science. I have wonderfully supportive family and friends. I have a car that is managing to keep running for now, even if it does complain about it a lot. I have managed to get most of the things I need for school, and it looks like they're fairly well set up to last me through the rest of my classes.

So, overall, I'm really very fortunate. While I'm a firm believer that a good wallow can be good for you now and then, I also believe that at some point, you've tell yourself "okay, quit bitching and get on with it." Even when you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, it's important to be able to continue to trudge.

"Trudging. The slow, weary, yet determined walk of one who has no other choice but to soldier on...But to trudge represents pride. Pride, resolve and a trust in God to deliver me from my current tribulations. " A Knight's Tale

  3. Life can throw lots of challenges our way that's for sure. Sometimes it is definitely overwhelming. It's recognizing that we are overwhelmed and taking lots of small steps to get back to feeling in control.

A good way to counteract the negative thoughts of what's bad is to rephrase what is good / or certain of in your mind. It helps restore your faith that everything will turn out OK.

I found you on Friends following friends on MBC. I would love to see you over at my blog Organize Your Life Now

    Thanks,

  4. Don't worry! We all get down sometimes. It's part of being a mom. It's a little overwhelming, but there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. It's good to blog about it too, because we all feel this way and realize we aren't alone. I'm popping by from MBC. I'm following you now. Here is my blog too!
